Higginsons of Grange was formed 37 years ago when Stuart and Pauline Higginson set up a small, high street shop that brought the art of butchery to a handful of customers. Since then Higginsons has evolved into a multi award-winning and nationally recognised business, as butchers and pie makers.
We still operate from the same high street location in Grange-over-Sands, albeit a much larger premises which now incorporates our Deli shop where our legendary pies can be purchased. The premises also houses our dedicated butchery unit, a bakery and Higginsons Takeout – a takeaway food and drink establishment serving a variety of freshly-made hot and cold meals.
Whilst the business has seen many developments over the years, our simple ethos remains the same – to bring the highest quality food and meat to our customers with care and commitment. To that end, we continue to source the very best meat from the farms on our doorstep and fuse traditional practice with modern tastes. A wealth of experience lies amongst our team of skilled butchers and bakers, who will cater for your every need with passion and enthusiasm.
We are proud to produce our own multi award-winning Cumberland Sausage, award-winning home-cured Bacon and rare breed Pork from our base in Grange-Over-Sands. We also supply local Cumbrian specialities such as seasonal Morecambe Bay Saltmarsh Lamb, Lakeland Lakeland Herdwick Lamb, heritage beef and local Game. Our hand-made pies, cooked fresh everyday by our bakers have achieved legendary status and can be purchased both from our shop and through a number of regional retailers.
